Wassup? 8 years later
This little short viral video is a parody on the "Wassup" commercials that were around a few years ago and is really well done and is yet another excellent example of ways that voters are being reached these days. The vid doesn't appear to be sponsored by the Obama campaign, but is definitely following their lead on the quality and message fronts.
Not only does the Obama team understand 21st Century marketing and communications, but they also know how to use these tools MORE than effectively - in other words, the "stuff" they're putting out there is legitimately well done and obviously effective. There's even an iPhone application called "Obama 08" that lists all the issues, gives you info on local campaign-related events, updates, links to media clips and articles and easy ways to get involved, yourself. Frickin' amazing!!!

In my lifetime, I have never ever been actually excited by any political candidate - ever. "This one" - meaning Senator Obama (soon to be President Obama if there is a God) has sparked a level of enthusiasm and excitement in me that is truly unprecedented, and I'm obviously not alone. I even have a little makeshift "Obama shrine" in my dining room (see pic below) - again, this is unprecedented. The last time I put up a picture of someone I really admired was around 1970 - it was a Bobby Sherman poster from Tiger Beat magazine - I was 10.
This is really really huge, folks. It's not just the fact that we will probably have our first president "of color" - it's also the fact that this amazing person, Barack Obama has defied all odds, broken all the barriers and lifted himself to a level of true belovedness (I think I made that word up, but oh well). He has inspired so many millions of people here in our now- tattered country and across the globe to actually believe that real change IS possible. Wow. That's quite a feat.
Only 6 days left... 6 days until perhaps we WILL have some real hope again. Go Barack!!!
Seriously, if McShame & his "wack job" manage to steal this election, it will really be time to start looking for a new country... I just wish Canada wasn't so damn cold.
